In the north of the island - "El Coral" - a heavy wave breaking on to sharp reef, peeling left and very hollow on a low tide. Perfect at 4 ft and can hold big swells.Tricky to get in and out and watch for the sea urchins at low tide. The secret is "how to find the spot?
Fast left hander, about 80 yds. down the line surfing. This wave only gives you a few chances at hitting the lip. Fast take off with immediate barreling section. Reef is fairly shallow on the inside in 3.5 feet of water to duck dive.
A sharp lava reef that can hold swells up to 7/8 meters. Breaks heavily over lava slab, maxes out over 15ft. miss the take off and get nailed with long hold downs.
Can be good on its day - but watch out for strong rips and windsurfers! Surf is good when tropical storms are around.
The number one hot spot for top surfing. The waves are massive. Excellent. Sandy 10 - 12ft for all levels of surfers.
Good for novices, not much surf normally.
