Lanzarote is the least mountainous despite more than 300 volcano's. Timanfaya National Park is an exemplary geological reserve and gives the visitor a rare opportunity to see what the earth looked like millions of years ago. Lanzarote was also the home of Cesar Manrique, one of Spain's greatest contributors the arts his paintings sculpture and architecture can be seen throughout the island. Puerto del Carmon, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca are the main tourist centres with almost 100km of cliffs, coves and beaches some of black volcanic sand. What ever your preference Lanzarote is a fascinating and unique island.
