The variety and quality of places to eat are second to none on the Canary Islands. With a diversity of food to satisfy the hungriest appetite, or the most discerning palates, from the humble Fish and Chips to a gourmet banquet prepared by top chefs from around the world. You will also find that most restaurants have excellent wines, including the locally produced, as well as a selection of beers and spirits. Caught fresh every day, fish is a speciality on the Canary Islands having always been one of the staples of these seafaring people. Why not treat yourself to one of the many fish dishes cooked in the traditional Canarian style, usually served with a Mojo sauce, either hot and spicy or garlic, this is accompanied by fresh local vegetables and fruit, a pleasure not to be missed during your stay. Don't forget to try the world famous Paella made with different kinds of fish, shellfish, chicken or pork, served with saffron rice and bowls of delicious salads and fresh baked rolls. Maybe the hot fiery curries from India are more to your taste or the delicate flavours of the Orient are your passion, which ever it is to be, you will find them in abundance, either to eat in or to take away, the choice is yours. During your holiday in the Canary Islands, why not try a Tapas, an ideal quick snack or light meal with a difference, consisting of small portions of main meals such as meat balls, fried squid or cured ham, the best way to try them is to choose two or three different ones, a good idea if there is a group of you, that way you will have maybe a dozen different dishes to share. A great way to sample the local food. Last, but by no means least, there are the good old standards that we all know, like Fish and Chips, Sausages, Chops, Steaks or delicious home made pies. Don't forget The Big Breakfast a traditional full English breakfast with tea or coffee served all day from early to late. Bon Appetite.
