Diving
in Fuerteventura
Open to the
trade winds from Corralejo along the coast to Pesebre point in
the south in Jandia is an area with ideal diving conditions particulaly
from June - September.
Corralejo itself is located near the island of lobos rich in marine
life and has been declared an Underwater National Park. The sea
bed of Lava formations provide hiding places for a wide variety
of fish and invertebrates such as Canarian Spinney Lobsters and
Spider Crabs.
Occasionally a Shark or Dolphin might be seen but more regularly
found are Striped Baracuda, Striped Mullet, Tuna, Parrot Fish,
Moray Eel, Octopus, Stingrays, Scorpion Fish, Puffer Fish, Cod
and Conger Eel.

Further south
there is an interesting area from Salinas and Jacomar, where a
volcano erupted into the sea

At Morro
Jable there is an especially good diving coast, known world wide.
There is a submarine sand stone wall, many caves and fissures,
with a large community of big fish, giving the diver some unforgetable
moments. The fish species differ from the other islands because
of the lower water temperatures.

Low water temperatures.
- Skill:
All Levels.
The best place
for submarine diving is at Ajuy in the district of Pajara deep
water not very rocky with immense caves with high walls and big
tunnals.
